Wow, what a week! Very busy and productive. It is very exciting that we are so close to having our first ebook, Traveling to the State of Gratitude, almost ready.  To top it off, we had a nice evening out at the movies and dessert with my parents AND the house was still standing when I came home.  I couldn’t really ask for much more than that in a week!  My daily inspired thoughts.

I got the blurb for Iced today, which is exciting. It means I am that much closer to seeing it in print. I kinda love that story. I can't wait for everyone to get the chance to read it! I also got my first ever royalty statement, and well what can I say? Who doesn't like to get paid?? It's awesome to make money doing something I love so much. I love it so much I did it for free for years, now it's kinda of surreal. Maybe it'll settle in a bit more when I cash my first check. It was a good day today.

We've been in production mode for the last few days, building up our stock for future fairs, new stores and yes, the holiday season. In the spirit of keeping creative, I decided to take some time to create something new and different. We've been spotting lots of interesting looking spiders around our new home, and I decided to make a (much larger) plush version of one of the prettiest we've seen. It's a Venusta Orchard Spider, and it's got amazing green and yellow coloring with brilliant orange markings. It's completey harmless, and we're glad it's around to eat insects. For a sense of scale, the front legs are 14" long, and he seems pretty comfortable hanging out in a tree. Enjoy!

I'm in a silly mood. Inspiration can be funny too. Llama llama!

Life flows around us - it's up to us to appreciate and enjoy the moments as they come!

Abby Abdalla came to one of my shoots as a makeup artist and stood in for a couple light tests... who would have guessed that he came out looking every bit a model as the ladies I shot (which you'll have the chance to see soon!)

This looks like a handy web app, or the term that I'm seeing used, SAAS - Software As A Service. I prefer the term "web app" and hope that it sticks and prevails. Spread the good word, let's crowdsource this one into mainstream venacular.

As for Postling, from what I can tell, this is a one-stop place to update your multiple social media outlets / social networks. Functionally comparable to ping.fm, pixelpipe.com, hellotxt.com, tarpipe.com. Plus, 2 new ones in beta (at time of this writing: updating.me and atomkeep.com.

How would you decide between all of these? Try them out, see which is most intuitive and easy for you to use, and which one updates all the social networks that you'd want updates to go to. Not all of them update the same social networks. The two most popular social networks, obviously, are Facebook and Twitter. And for professionals, also LinkedIn.

You must have been under a rock or another planet if you haven’t heard of and Ipad or tablet type of computer. The popularity of these devices is growing at a rapid pace, although many financial services companies are slow to release apps for these devices.

I’m constantly searching for news and information relating to the use of tablet devices for financial and insurance professionals.  This article in Computerworld was very interesting.

WASHINGTON -- The recovery lost momentum in the second quarter as growth slowed to a 2.4 percent pace, its most sluggish showing in nearly a year and too weak to drive down unemployment.
